HI Mike, our two main indigenous fig varieties in Sydney are Ficus Rubiginosa and Macrophylla or the common names of Port Jackson fig and Morton bay fig. One thing I have found with these species is that fire has reduced their range to riparian and coastal areas but the mud crabs and other mangrove dwellers love them too. I have been doing a lot of behind mangrove planting as well as along the estuary shore as the branches will spread far over these areas dropping their fruit. Many people are surprised when you tell them that the fish love them as well. Many thanks
